The Tasman Makos made must-win rugby look easy as they crushed Southland 56-0 in the sunshine at Trafalgar Park this afternoon.
The commanding win ensured the Makos would earn a premiership semi-final road trip to New Plymouth to face Taranaki.
Tasman were too clinical in the backs for Southland and faced little threat on attack.
They brushed off their frustrating draw against North Harbour in the previous match to run rampant at the right time and send a strong message to Taranaki for when they meet next weekend.
