The Armed Offenders Squad completed a dawn raid at a Jenner Road address around 7am this morning.
The road had been closed off for the raid but has since reopened.
A man had been arrested around 8.30am and held in custody in relation to the raid. It is believed he was harbouring stolen firearms at the property.
Tasman District Police communications manager, Barbara Dunn, says there was a planned search warrant at the victory address which the Armed Offenders Squad were involved in as part of standard practice.
The man could be heard yelling at police during the raid as he was escorted into a patrol vehicle.
A number of firearm burglaries in the region had prompted the warrent for a search raid.
