A man has died in Nelson Hospital on Saturday after he was involved in a crash on State Highway 65 near Maruia Falls.
The 67-year-old Wellington man, Grant Keith McIsaac, collided head on with a truck while driving a van on a one way bridge about 8pm on Wednesday 1 April.
He was taken to hospital for assessment after the crash where his condition deteriorated. He died on Saturday morning.
A serious crash investigation is under way and a post mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
