With the possibility of Netflix use slowing down Nelson’s internet speed Nelson Live took to the streets to find out if locals were being affected.
Overwhelmingly the people we spoke to were all happy with the services they were getting although there was definitely a sympathetic feeling towards rural residents.
Wairoa Gorge resident Esther Schou said her house is situated close to the exchange box and therefor her speed wasn’t too bad although she did feel sorry for her neighbors further down the gorge who were experiencing slower internet.
Internet speed can be influenced by a number of factors including Internet Service Provider, Distance from broadband exchange box and connection type as well as where you are situated in the country.
