The Moutere Highway has been closed tonight after a van drove into a cow and then proceeded to hit a power pole.
Two passengers have been taken to Nelson Hospital and one was cut out of the vehicle. They are believed to be in a stable condition. The cow was killed.
The incident occurred close to the Moutere highway and Redwood Valley Road intersection. Police cars are diverting traffic and a emergency services attended the scene.
