The Kartsport Sunbelt Championships were held over the weekend in a two day Nelson Marlborough event.
The event had five Nelson heats and four Marlborough heats including a final.
Kartsport president Brian Lotter said he was impressed with the turnout to this year’s event.
“This year we were very lucky, we had people come from all over New Zealand.”
He says kartsport had taken a bit of a financial turn for the worse in Nelson in recent times but the organisation was starting to pick up again with more members.
