Today locals celebrated the the 70th anniversary of VJ Day, the day when the Japanese surrendered and WW2 was officially at an end.
Nelson’s celebrations were held at Rutherford Park and featured a range of wartime vehicles, as well as the attendance of three veterans who each have stories of their VJ Day experiences.
Unfortunately the weather saw a shorter event than organisers had hoped for.
