Daffodil sellers lined Trafalgar St this morning to raise money for this year’s Cancer Society appeal.
Daffodil Day was launched in 1991 and annually raises between $4.5 and $5 million for the Cancer Society.
The money raised through Daffodil Day is spent in the regions where it was donated so it returns to the community from which it was given.
The money goes towards supporting people affected by cancer, scientific research, resources and advocacy of cancer.
About 21,000 Kiwis are diagnosed with cancer annually. Close to 9,000 people die from cancer each year.
