The historic Miner’s Arms Hotel, now known as Panama House, has sat proudly on the corner of Hardy and Collingwood streets since 1855.

The hotel was rebuilt in 1883 and renamed the Panama Hotel, which was closed in July 1976.
However, the Panama Hotel is now owned by Garry and Kerry Ford who have opened it as the Panama Kitchen and Bar.
