The Nelson Bays Police will not be laying out a red carpet for the gang members rolling into town this weekend.
Police say the outlaw motorcycle gang members coming to Nelson this weekend for the Hell’s Angels poker run will be closely monitored to ensure they abide by the law.
Nelson Bays Area Commander Inspector Mat Arnold-Kelly says Police would have an extra focus on road safety and maintaining public order.
“We want to send a clear message to gangs that the people of Nelson will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and drugs in our community. Gangs are the main driver of methamphetamine trade in this country and we do not want that here. I have seen first-hand the devastation methamphetamine wreaks on people’s lives and we all have to commit to disrupting this destructive drug trade.”
Mat says people can expect to see a highly visible Police presence throughout the weekend.

You will never be able to stop what is coming as the truth of the matter is there are greater people than a few residents and a local police force which i believe is most likely in tune with the gangs and organised crime not only in Nelson but the whole of NZ why else would they employ a gang for private security does no one watch the news its all a profit to both gangs and the police regardless of whether the culprits are caught or not there should be a picture here of pigs scratching each others back oh well rant over
Police precense is over kill…. the biggest gang are the ones who sound the sirens
