A call has been put out to all restaurants in the Top of the South to enter their cooks in a ‘masterchef style’ competition at the upcoming Snapafest, and of course, the main ingredient will be seafood.

‘Snapamaster’ Top of the South Chef of the Year Competition 2016 will see up to 12 chefs from 12 local restaurants cook-off at the festival, which is being held at Founders Park on September 17.

Each chef will be given a mystery box of ingredients, at four cooking stations in front of the crowd, and a limited time to prepare their dish, before being judged by New Zealand’s first MasterChef winner, Brett McGregor.

The winning chef gets a weekend for two to Auckland, courtesy of Air New Zealand Grabaseat, with a two night stay at SKYCITY Auckland.

Each entry also gets a double pass to Snapafest.

To enter your chef, email Trafalgar Events with your intention to trafalgarevents@xtra.co.nz.
