A helicopter is on the way to uplift a group currently stranded in a hut in Kahurangi National Park.
The two adults and four children were forced to stay in the park overnight after their vehicle got stuck in the snow.
It is hoped the group can be uplifted and taken to Nelson before the weather worsens in the area.
