The search for the region’s top eateries, bars, chefs and bar staff is on.

Nominations for the 2013/14 Nelson Hospitality Awards open next week and organisers say excitement is building in the industry.

The awards are held every two years and have various judging methods, including competition for junior chefs, expert judging for the head chef award and public vote for the top restaurant and bar award, via voting forms printed in Nelson Weekly, Waimea Weekly and Motueka Golden Bay Guardian.

The awards are the pinnacle for the industry and are organised by Hospitality New Zealand.

Organiser Jeanette Swift says the awards will be a great way for members of the public to have their say about the region’s best. “We’re really excited and speaking with people in the industry we know it will be incredibly popular. It’s a great event and really important for our industry.”

The first nomination form will be printed in Nelson Weekly next week and nominations will close on July 11.
