Tasman District Council is holding a meeting today. Some snippets on the agenda include:

• The Tasman District Council is owed around $1.149million by debtors with accounts more than three months overdue. Credit recovery agencies are pursuing $172,000, accounts that were returned because of no known address totalled $10,000 while companies in receivership or liquidated owed $134,000.

• Quotable Value has received just over 400 objections to the Tasman district’s three-yearly property revaluations released in September last year. The objections are expected to be resolved by June 30 this year.

• An external health and safety audit is being conducted to assess the conflict between recreational use and production forestry use in the Tasman District Council’s commercial forests. The audit was commissioned after concerns were raised over health and safety issues this year. A wider policy review to better manage these conflicts has already been started.
