A queue formed in front of Crusader Wyatt Crockett as he helped to hand over thirty free salads to passersby this afternoon.

Wyatt is the brother of Lisa Crockett, owner of Salad Revolution, a salad delivery service in the Nelson Region. Wyatt says part of the salad promotion was to encourage healthy eating among sportspeople.

“You can’t get better than this great stuff. It’s great for training and good for a healthy lifestyle.”

Lisa started Salad Revolution a little over a month ago and is providing salads to all of the Crusaders team.

“I woke up at three thirty this morning and I’ve been wired for this all day. Today has been the ultimate in salad giveaways.”

The salad includes brown rice, quinoa, chickpeas, cabbage, spinach and chicken along with some added herbs.

Wyatt is currently injured but will be watching from the sideline tonight as the Crusaders take on the Hurricanes at Trafalgar Park.

“It’s going to be a great night. You can always bank on Nelson to have good weather for a game like this.”

The salad giveaway was organised in conjunction with The Hits radio station.
